The Mid & South Essex Hospitals Charity and Voluntary Services mission is simply to make patients lives better by enhancing hospital environments, funding specialist equipment and supporting projects that go beyond what the NHS can provide alone.
The simple mission but enormous challenge was explained to the Rotary Club of SWF in an very interesting talk given by Clair Dade ( her first she admitted). The scope of the charity’s aims extends to improving wards; family rooms; waiting areas; comforting spaces; backing specialist centres including burns, plastics, cardiothoracic and cancer services.
Our immediate Past President Derek Hutchinson, from personal experience, nominated the Dandelion Appeal to receive £2000 through the generosity of the people of SWF participating in and sponsoring the 2026 Swimarathon run by our Club.This was gratefully received by Clair on behalf of the Charity in its constant quest for funding its work for local people.
