South Woodham Ferrers Rotary Club Gives Support to MAF

Lynne Barker photographed below, gave an informed presentation of the work carried out worldwide by the Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) receiving a cheque from President Geof to go towards their quest to help others in need.

This is a Christian Aviation Charity operating more than 135 light aircraft in and around 26 developing countries bringing help and healing to the most remote communities.

They have been doing this for 70 years and assisting nearly 1500 partners worldwide including local churches and charities such as Oxfam, Christian Aid and Tearfund.

They perform medical and emergency airlifts as well as fly in doctors and medicines.

They bring food and aid workers as well as teachers and school supplies to the most remote communities.

To travel by road is either very difficult or is very dangerous for the helping agencies to gain access to the communities that need them. MAF play the important part in giving transport to overcome the difficulties with their light aircraft which can land in many otherwise treacherous terrains.
